Welcome to the Great Lakes Map Company. Located just south of downtown Charlevoix on US-31, we offer a wide collection of antique and printed maps depicting Michigan and the Great Lakes region. Since June 2014, owner and creator Paul Casciani transformed a once-upon-a-time cement plant into a unique map shop that encapsulates cartography, history, art, and creativity.
Paul is not only the stores owner and creator, but an avid map collector. His search for rare and remarkable maps has resulted in a exquisite collection ranging from the 18th - 20th centuries. With a custom built wood-burning fireplace, Paul and the Great Lakes Map Company creates a warm and welcoming environment to buy, sell, or trade maps, to discuss the Great Lakes region and its history, or to simply swap stories.
While our collection of products is primarily focused on vintage Great Lakes maps, we offer many maps in printed form, accommodating all sorts of map enthusiasts. Moreover, we now offer laser engraved maps, depicting antique maps or maps created and hand-drawn by Paul himself. Aside from our wide inventory of maps, we provide other products relating to the Great Lakes, such as Petoskey stones, hand-made clocks, and other assorted items.
The Great Lakes Map Company welcomes you to come visit our store location in the small coastal town of Charlevoix.
